Annie (played by Quvenzhané Wallis) was abandoned by her parents at a young age; however, the optimistic and strong-willed girl always believes that one day her parents will return to reunite with her. Annie lives in the home of Miss Hannigan (played by Cameron Diaz), where life is not exactly pleasant, but this does not extinguish her enthusiasm for life and hope for the future. Will (played by Jamie Foxx) is a wealthy businessman, who is ambitious and determined to run for mayor of New York City. Encouraged by Vice President Grace (played by Rose Byrne) and campaign advisor Guy (played by Bobby Cannavale), Will makes a surprising decision—he adopts Annie in an attempt to boost his popularity. However, the spirited Annie isn’t one to simply comply with his plans, is she?
