In the late Qing Dynasty, imperialism intensified the plunder of our natural resources. To quickly determine the distribution of gold mines in Northeast China, Jin Haiqing led a team of 20 brothers to explore the mines under the order of the local military commander. Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, a year had passed. The exploration team endured numerous hardships and sacrificed 12 lives. They finally found the gold mine and mapped its distribution. Just as the exploration team was preparing to return to the old camp, they were suddenly confronted by the officer Chu Yunlong. At the same time, the exploration team rescued a girl named Yu Gu from two assailants. One night, Chu Yunlong stole a backpack containing the gold map and deceived his nephew Zhu Tiehao. The next morning, the two arrived at a small wooden house belonging to the Japanese, where Chu Yunlong presented the backpack to Harada Kyushu. It was only then that Zhu Tiehao realized Chu Yunlong was actually a traitor. Without regard for his safety, he rushed forward but was knocked down by a Japanese warrior. To his shock, there was no gold map in the backpack. That day, while the exploration team was traveling along a mountain path, they suddenly encountered Chu Yunlong's ambush. Faced with Chu Yunlong's imposing presence, the exploration team was in a perilous situation. Just then, the bandit Ma Yingju came to their aid, and Chu Yunlong, unable to withstand the attack, fled with his team. Haiqing was very grateful to Ma Yingju for saving them but remained suspicious of his constant following of the exploration team. Before long, Chu Yunlong gathered the Japanese again to attack the exploration team. Overcome with guilt, Tiehao angrily charged at Chu Yunlong with a pickaxe but was tragically killed by a Japanese warrior's blade, and amidst the chaos, Chu Yunlong took Yu Gu captive. That night, Haiqing sneaked into Chu Yunlong's residence to rescue Yu Gu but fell into a trap set by Chu. He was once again saved by the timely arrival of Ma Yingju. Yu Gu finally revealed her identity as the leader of the bandits to Haiqing and asked him to give her the map. Haiqing reasoned with her, appealing to her sense of righteousness. Touched by his patriotism, Yu Gu resolutely abandoned her goal of obtaining the map and decided to join them in fighting the enemy. In an old gold mine, Yu Gu and Ma Yingju engaged in a desperate battle with Chu Yunlong, ultimately killing him, while Ma Yingju heroically sacrificed himself. The exploration team finally returned to the old camp, where Haiqing solemnly handed the map to the local military commander. Unexpectedly, the provincial governor and the Japanese envoy appeared, ordering the map to be handed over. The commander firmly returned the map to Haiqing but fell to the Japanese's steel blade. After a fierce battle, Haiqing also heroically laid down his life for his country. Yu Gu, left to survive by the narrowest of margins, stood in silence in the chilling wind, mourning the fallen heroes.
