Joe Foster (Lucas Neff) prides himself on being a horror expert who has watched countless horror films. He can recite classic movie lines effortlessly and seeks thrills in real life, even choosing to take his girlfriend Lacey (Caitlin Stasey) on a date at a haunted house bar. Not long after getting married, Joe invites his equally horror-loving friend Ben (Chris Marquette) and his wife Ashley (Stephanie Drake) over to celebrate Halloween. While at the bar, a man claiming to be from Fear Inc. approaches Joe and offers to create an unprecedented terrifying experience for him.
