Jesse James (played by Brad Pitt) is the most famous outlaw of the Civil War era. Together with his brother, he forms the James Gang, committing countless robberies with his gang members, making even the best-defended banks fall victim to their grasp. With his exceptional marksmanship and experiences, Jesse becomes a legendary figure in the eyes of the common people. As Jesse reaches middle age, he gradually grows tired of the life of constant upheaval and evading the government. His gang members suffer injuries or deaths, and his brother chooses to leave due to Jesse's bad temper.
