In the vast lands of Africa, exotic creatures run freely, yet poverty, hunger, and the smoke of war fill every corner of this dark continent. In a certain country's transit area, a playful black boy named Agu (played by Abraham Attah) is no different from children in other peaceful countries. However, the peace he enjoys is fragile; once the agreement between the government forces and rebel groups is torn apart, bullets and killings come roaring in. Agu, at a young age, is torn from his mother and witnesses the brutal murder of his father and brother. He flees for his life and is taken in by a guerrilla group made up of many child soldiers. The charismatic leader of the guerrilla group (played by Idris Elba) encourages the naive boys to pick up weapons, enjoying the thrill of killing their own kind. The children grow up too soon, aging prematurely…
