This time, Barbie plays the beautiful mermaid Lumina (voiced by Kelly Sheridan), who possesses the magical ability to manipulate pearls. Lumina's dream has always been to visit the royal palace, and to make her dream come true, she sets off on a journey to the underwater castle with her friend, the seahorse Kuda (voiced by Katie Crown).
