The story takes place in modern times. Barbie (voiced by Diana Kaarina), who has always lived a carefree life, unexpectedly gets fired, feeling depressed. She decides to go to Paris to unwind and seeks refuge with her aunt Millicent (voiced by Patricia Drake), who runs a fashion house in the city. Upon arriving in Paris, Barbie learns that the fashion house is on the brink of bankruptcy due to sabotage by rivals. Not wanting to see such a tragedy unfold, Barbie, Millicent, and assistant Alice (voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) decide to team up to help Millicent. By chance, Barbie and Alice discover a secret fashion house where trends are born. Inside the fashion house, the two girls meet a whimsical fashion fairy. With the fairy's help, can Barbie aid Millicent in rejuvenating the business? Ken (voiced by Adrian Petriw), Barbie's boyfriend, follows in her footsteps and travels all the way to Paris.
