Anderson (played by Eric Tsang), who built his career on a pigeon shop, goes to Shanghai to start a business but becomes obsessed with real estate, causing his wife to die of anger without remorse. One day, Anderson accidentally hears former actor Pan Zhiqiang (played by Huang Bo), who is endorsing the new property "Bishui Yunj residence," sharing "insider information" in a cinema, prompting him to raise funds again to pre-purchase a new house. Meanwhile, newlywed former salesgirl Luo Xi (played by Yao Chen) pays a deposit of fifty thousand for Bishui Yunj residence but is shocked to find various sources of pollution surrounding the development. Pan Zhiqiang, acting as the host for the property and working tirelessly for the sales company, hopes they will invest in his new film. However, he is entangled by Luo Xi, who demands a refund on her deposit. Pan Zhiqiang devises a plan for Luo Xi to resell the house to Anderson. Once the deal is done, he goes back on his word and refuses to refund the deposit. With no choice left, Luo Xi exposes the insider information of the property, leading to a series of reactions that reveal both Pan Zhiqiang and Anderson are trapped by the developers, prompting each of them to think of a way out...
