In a small town called Reedville in Colorado, a mysterious virus spreads. To prevent the virus from spreading, the government sends troops to strictly monitor the local residents from leaving the town, and the hospital is overflowing with patients. Corporal Sarah Berman (played by Mena Suvari) and soldier Bud (played by Stark Sands) take her sick mother to the hospital, only to find that the patients inside suddenly turn into ferocious, bloodthirsty zombie monsters. They attack the infected indiscriminately, and all who are bitten quickly transform into zombies themselves. Sarah and her companions quickly jump into a jeep to escape, but they accidentally learn via radio that her brother Trevor (played by Michael Welch) is trapped in a building. To rescue her only brother, Sarah and her companions dive back into the carnage of the zombie horde...
