On May 24, 2021, a visually impaired individual from China, Zhang Hong, reached the summit of the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. He became the first blind climber in Asia and the third in the world to achieve this feat. However, why is Zhang Hong so obsessed with climbing, unable to appreciate the view from the summit? What challenges did he face along the way after he made the decision to conquer the world's roof and fulfill his goal? The director and his team, who are the first in China to win two prestigious Emmy Awards for Best Documentary and Best Long-form Commercial Report, personally oversaw the project which took three years and spanned two countries, documenting Zhang Hong's entire ascent of Everest. The film authentically showcases the magnificent scenery of Mount Everest, the harsh dangers, the historic moment of Zhang Hong reaching the summit, and moments where the protagonist confronts various issues such as his physical limitations, significant economic and time costs, emotional sacrifices, and the challenges of climate and terrain. In the face of the "invisible summit," Zhang Hong consistently inspires himself with the spirit of "though the road is long, I will eventually arrive." As he puts it, "No matter how difficult the road is, taking a step is still a step."
