This drama tells the story of Asano Kyouko, who lives in the downtown area of Tokyo during the Showa 40s. She is busy with her family business but yearns for the Osaka World Expo in the following years. Her dream faces setbacks during matchmaking attempts, and she decides to go to Osaka. At the Manda family home, she encounters her uncle's family's difficulties and conflicts with her cousin Chinatsu. Chinatsu is filled with anticipation for the Osaka World Expo but is constrained by her family's expectations. Kyouko supports Chinatsu in challenging herself to become a service staff at the expo, which becomes a step toward realizing her own dream.
