Renowned director Qin Jian incorporates psychological elements into this artistic romance film, breaking conventions and adding mystery. Young psychiatrist Zhong Ning (Guan Shan) returns home after studying abroad. One day, he visits his girlfriend Yu Pei (Lin Jia) and discovers mysterious occurrences in her house. At night, he hears a woman's wailing, which turns out to be Yu Pei's sister-in-law Gao Xiu Xin (Ye Feng), who is suffering from a mental illness. Zhong Ning takes the initiative to treat her, and as Xiu Xin recovers, the two fall in love. This greatly saddens Yu Pei. At the same time, for the happiness of her sister-in-law, Xiu Xin is determined to let go of love, avoiding entanglement in it. Ye Feng vividly portrays the mentally unstable young woman, shining bright on screen.
