In the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties, Xu Jin, the Chancellor of Jiangxi, learned that the Emperor was going to sweep Chen Youliang's tomb. He sent his adopted son, Prince Jing Zhu Jianxiong, to make arrangements but felt something was amiss. After Chen Mo Chou, the adopted daughter of Chen Youliang, learned of this, her old subordinates advocated for killing Zhu Jianxiong. Although Mo Chou wished to live a peaceful life as an ordinary woman, she found it hard to go against the wishes of the crowd. The Yuan Emperor Shundi sent the drum king Liu Yunpeng to feign betrayal and infiltrate the south, where he was received by Xu Jin and others. At the entrance of the tomb, Zhu Jianxiong disguised as a merchant had a conversation with Mo Chou, who was disguised as a fisherwoman. When Ming soldiers closed in, he let Mo Chou escape while he himself was captured. Zhu Jianxiong instructed Xu Jin to spread the word that he should be executed. Mo Chou had her maid Xiuxiu disguise as herself to sneak into Xu's residence to rescue her benefactor. Xiuxiu, who was originally a female official of the Yuan dynasty, took the opportunity to meet Liu Yunpeng, who caused chaos in Xu's garden during a singing invitation, allowing Zhu Jianxiong to escape unharmed. On a merchant ship, Zhu Jianxiong met Mo Chou again; both felt a vague awareness of each other's identities. Mo Chou felt Zhu's sincerity and left in trust, while Deputy General Lin Wu saw everything clearly. Zhu Jianxiong instructed that Mo Chou be released, while Liu Yunpeng demanded Xiuxiu kill both Mo Chou and Zhu Jianxiong. Just as Mo Chou fell into Liu Yunpeng's trap, Zhu Jianxiong galloped to rescue her. However, Mo Chou's subordinates captured Zhu Jianxiong. That night, Xiuxiu rescued Zhu Jianxiong, who was worried about Mo Chou's safety and insisted on descending the mountain. In the wilderness, Xiuxiu revealed her identity to Mo Chou, and the two fought fiercely against each other. Liu Yunpeng used concealed weapons to strike at Mo Chou, and Xiuxiu protected her with her own body. Liu Yunpeng was full of regret. Mo Chou responded to Zhu Jianxiong's call for allegiance. Zhou Tianhua pressured Zhu Jianxiong to obey the Emperor's will and kill the Chen faction. After Zhu Jianxiong killed Zhou Tianhua, he rushed towards the tomb, where Mo Chou and others were surrounded by Ming troops. Without time to discern, Zhu Jianxiong was killed by Mo Chou, and when she saw Zhu Jianxiong spitting black blood, she finally realized the truth.
