Sixteen-year-old beautiful girl Poppy Moore (Emma Roberts) lives in a seaside California home and comes from a wealthy family with no worries about food and clothing. After her mother passed away at an early age, her father Gary (Aidan Quinn) indulges and spoils her, resulting in her rebellious and uncontrollable personality. One day, Poppy's arrogance finally angers her father, and she is sent to a British boarding school. Of course, even in a foreign land, Poppy's unruly nature remains unchanged, and her style naturally draws attention and resentment from the other girls at school, while the strict rules suffocate her. Poppy constantly wants to escape this dull and rigid place, but during this time, she gradually realizes the foolishness of her past behavior, and friendship slowly comes her way… The film's protagonist, Emma Roberts, is the niece of famous actress Julia Roberts.
