An accidental encounter forces young Christine (played by Sylvie Testud) to face a tragic fate of spending the second half of her life in a wheelchair. This huge blow leads Christine to choose a solitary life on a desolate island, away from others. However, after experiencing pain, anger, and despair, Christine finds the strength to rise again. She has an unfulfilled dream to embark on a pilgrimage to the Pyrenees. One day, as if moved by Christine's devotion and resilience, God miraculously heals her disabled legs.
