Malcolm (Shameik Moore) is a high school student determined to go his own way. His loud and eccentric demeanor often makes him the odd one out, resulting in bullying and isolation, leading to a difficult life. For Malcolm, making it through his final year of high school safely is his greatest wish. One day, Malcolm secretly harbors feelings for a beautiful girl named Najia (Zoe Kravitz), feeling unworthy of her and burying his emotions deep within himself.
