Guan Sheng, under the orders of Cai Jing, besieges Liangshan. The army suffers from insufficient provisions, and morale is low. Guan Sheng devises a plan to capture several Liangshan leaders. After running out of supplies, Guan Sheng's subordinate Zhou Liang goes to retrieve grain but is betrayed by Cai Jing's nephew Pan Xin. Liangshan sends Hu Yan Zhuo down the mountain with a plan to lure Guan Sheng into a trap, resulting in Guan Sheng being captured. He ultimately joins Liangshan and kills Pan Xin.
