White detective Nick Nolte must enlist his former black criminal partner Eddie Murphy to help him track down the mysterious drug dealer known as "the Ice Man." Eddie, who has a large sum of money still held by Nick, reluctantly agrees to assist, but the two clash repeatedly during their collaboration. In the end, they discover the true identity of the "Ice Man," who turns out to be one of the police officers.
