Officer Koh Jang-soo (played by Lee Sun-kyun) of the seemingly upright water source police station is at a critical point in his life. His mother has just passed away, and his station is under investigation by prosecutors for alleged bribery involving his colleagues. On his way home for the funeral, he speeds and accidentally hits someone. Koh is in a frantic rush, but ultimately manages to escape the crisis through deception. Just as he thinks he has overcome the ordeal, he and his colleague are tasked with tracking down a wanted criminal, only to discover that the person they are looking for is the one he ran over. To make matters worse, someone witnessed the accident and reported it anonymously. Shortly thereafter, a mysterious person (played by Jo Jin-woong) calls and reveals to Koh Jang-soo the hidden truth about the accident involving the wanted criminal. The caller shares the same respectable status as Officer Koh, but what ulterior motives does this troubled individual have in persistently pursuing him?
