Peter (Ron Livingston) is extremely troubled by his current situation; a boring and monotonous job makes him feel hopeless, and his boss is a complete jerk yet very meticulous, making it difficult to find fault. What saddens Peter the most is his strong suspicion that his girlfriend is cheating on him. At the same time, news of layoffs has hit the company. Amidst the string of bad events, only his two slacker friends, Michael (David Herman) and Samir (Ajay Naidu), can bring him some joy. Under strong pressure from his girlfriend, increasingly anxious Peter visits a psychiatrist. Unexpectedly, during the hypnosis session, an incident occurs, which means Peter will live in a hypnotized state in the days to come. Surprisingly, the normally nonchalant Peter gains his boss's favor, while his two friends face termination.
