Xiaoming (Hai Junjie) and his four friends play a "spirit summoning game" in Huangshan Village, after which they mysteriously die one by one. Sensing something amiss, Xiaoming seeks help from his journalist sister, CISSY (Li Zhi). In pursuit of an exclusive story, CISSY introduces her friend Famao (Wu Zhenyu), who has extensive knowledge of the supernatural and secretly has a crush on her, to Xiaoming. As Famao and Xiaoming investigate in Huangshan Village, they learn that a century ago, a strange tragedy occurred where the famous Cantonese opera singer Chu Renmei (Shi Nianci) was killed by her husband. After discovering the truth of her death, she caused the deaths of 66 villagers within three days, and now her vengeful spirit has resurfaced due to her bones being thrown into a pond during new construction. Through further investigation, they discover that the ghost's method of killing involves causing those who drink from the pond to have hallucinations, leading to their sudden deaths. However, by this time, CISSY and her husband have already drunk from the pond. To save CISSY, Xiaoming and Famao jump into the deep pond after drinking from it.
