This film is written and directed by Zheng Changhe, who gained international recognition with "The Best Fist in the World." During the late Tang Dynasty under Emperor Zhaozong, regional warlords held power. Duke Li Ming (Yin Yifeng) tyrannizes the people, and "Soul-Chasing Pipa" Mu Junjie (Ling Yun) teams up with the Six Assassins to plot Li Ming's assassination.
