In the previous film, the supercomputer "Skynet" failed in its attempt to prevent the birth of human resistance leader John Connor. Thirteen years later, before "Judgment Day" arrives, "Skynet" sends a more advanced terminator, the T-1000 (played by Robert Patrick), back from 2029 to Los Angeles to kill the now-grown John. Meanwhile, John sends back the T-800 (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) to protect his younger self. At this time, Sarah Connor (played by Linda Hamilton) is institutionalized due to her bizarre behavior, while John rebels and lives with his foster parents. The T-800 finds them and gains their trust while escaping from the T-1000. To change the future and save humanity, Sarah, John, and T-800 Model 101 locate the creator of "Skynet," Miles Dyson (played by Joe Morton), and convince him to destroy all data related to "Skynet." At this moment, the police and T-1000 arrive, and they are caught in a multi-sided struggle.
