Adapted from the autobiography "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" by William Kamkwamba, it tells a life-changing story: At the age of 13, Kamkwamba built a wind turbine to save his village using scraps of metal, old bicycle parts, and wood. 13-year-old Kamkwamba was expelled from school because his family couldn't afford the $80 annual tuition fee. Loving learning, he sneaked into the school's library and discovered a way to save his famine-stricken village: he constructed a makeshift but functional windmill using the main frame of his father's bicycle, providing much-needed electricity to the region, unaffected by government power outages. This invention led Kamkwamba to receive funding from a professor in Malawi, gain a scholarship to school, and engage in deeper exchanges with other inventors across the African continent.
