In early 1590, after the death of the ruler Oda Nobunaga, the land was taken over by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Far off in the eastern plains, a mysterious rebel known as "Tenmo" is engaged in a civil war with his skeleton army. One day in the plains, a lone ranger named "Kirimar" is pursued by the skeleton army and finds himself at a dead end. He is rescued by a group of wanderers and a man named "Shenozuke." Kirimar is injured in the fight and is taken to a nearby village called "Mugai." Mugai serves as a postal transit point between the capital and the eastern plains. It is a busy village open to anyone. The village is managed by the geisha "Gokuraku Tayu" and "Mugai-ya Ranbei," along with a wandering samurai named "Tanuki Ana Jiro." When Shenozuke, Tanuki Ana Jiro, and Mugai-ya Ranbei gather in the village, a strange moment occurs that seems to hint at a certain connection among them. What kind of relationship is hidden behind them? How will this civil war unfold?
