This artistic film is a puppet animation with music using Peking Opera accompaniment. The heroic figure from Liangshan, the Black Whirlwind Li Kui, adept in wielding two broad axes, specifically targets corrupt officials and shameless scoundrels. This story recounts an encounter of Li Kui on his way down the mountain. On the mountainside, Li Kui encounters a robber who blocks his way, demanding a toll and claiming to be Li Kui himself. In just a few moves, Li Kui knocks the robber down. The robber reveals his true identity as Li Gui, who, lacking skill, resorts to such schemes to support his ninety-year-old mother at home. Li Kui, filled with compassion, spares him and tosses down a gold ingot, advising him to engage in legitimate business. What Li Kui does not know is that this Li Gui is indeed a shameless scoundrel who, along with his partner, engages in illegal money-making schemes, claiming to serve his elderly mother merely as a lie to save his own skin.
